I recently had the opportunity to take a mixology class with cocktail master Salvatore Calabrese at Mixology 101, the bar connected to new Planet Dailies at the Farmers Market in West Hollywood. According to Salvatore, “A good cocktail must look beautiful, smell incredible and taste divine.” Of the more than 10 cocktails Salvatore made—and had his eager students help make—all absolutely fit that description.

My favorite cocktail we tried that day is called the Sunburn Margarita. Salvatore was generous enough to share the recipe with us, and now I would like to share it with you. Cheers!
